During an emotional win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday, the St. Louis Rams may have discovered a franchise quarterback.
With Mark Bulger performing below expectations, the Rams were in search a a quarterback who could lead their team to victory and they may have found one known more for his leg than his arm.
"All dose guys was lookin at me like, 'What we gonna do?'" said Spagnuolo. "I said, 'Eh, forgettaboutit. I'm putting in tha kicker.'"
Rams kicker Josh Brown promptly threw a 36 yard touchdown pass to fullback Daniel Fells, igniting the Rams offense and leading them to a dominant 17-10 victory over the dynastic powerhouse known as the Detroit Lions.
If you watched the game, there is tangible evidence of the team rallying around Brown. There were myriad hugs and celebrations throughout.
"He really can throw the football," said Mark Bulger. "Compared to me, he could be the next Joe Montana."
Coach Spagnuolo echoed this sentiment.
"Dis guy. He's got dis... I don't know what," said Spagnuolo. "I mean, look at the balls on dis guy."
On Monday, the day after the game, the Rams hopefully named Brown their new starting quarterback.
"All we needed was a good quarterback," said Steven Jackson. "We don't need one of those worthless offensive lines or wide receivers or one of those 'good' defenses that everyone is going on about. I'll lead the ground attack and Brown will lead the air attack. We'll be unstoppable. Just you watch."
